At just four years old, Ayat was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after experiencing a severe hypoglycemic episode that required urgent medical attention. She is the only member of her family living with the condition.
Her father is a daily-wage worker supporting a family of seven. While government hospitals help provide access to medical care, the ongoing costs of managing Type 1 diabetes—including insulin, blood glucose testing, regular check-ups, and transportation—place a significant financial burden on the family.
Ayat is also living with severe malnutrition, making it even more important that she has access to proper nutrition alongside her treatment. A balanced diet is essential for managing Type 1 diabetes, but providing nutritious meals consistently is difficult given the family's limited income.
Managing Type 1 diabetes requires lifelong insulin therapy, regular monitoring, and proper nutrition. Your support can help provide Ayat with the insulin, medical supplies, and nutritious food she needs to manage her condition, improve her health, and give her the opportunity to grow stronger.
