The oldest of five siblings, Aiman Rahman, grew up in a small village in Malakand, Pakistan, where most girls do not go to school beyond the age of 11.

Aiman’s hard work and her father’s unwavering support, allowed her to defy the odds. She completed secondary school with a near perfect academic record and in the face of immense societal pressure, gained admission to JiuJiang University, China, to study medicine.

Aiman had become fluent in Mandarin and completed 5 semesters of a 12 semester MBBS program, when her dream of becoming a doctor was put in jeopardy.

Early in 2025, Aiman’s father's small business collapsed due to abrupt changes in government policy, plunging their family into debt and poverty. Forced to find work in a mine under bonded labour conditions, Aiman’s father could no longer afford her tuition and living expenses.

Sab Saath raised over PKR 2 million for Aiman last year, which paid for her tuition, hostel and food.

Your generous donations ensured that this extraordinary young girl could stay in university  for another year. She now has only two more to go.

We are asking you to help us secure Aiman’s education for another year, because this is about so much more than ensuring the future of a single girl child, where we fail so many.

A dedicated and brilliant student, Aiman, is thriving in one of the most academically competitive environments in the world. But her ambition is not limited to personal success.

Acutely aware of how a lack of women doctors endangers the lives of women and girls in her community, Aiman envisages using her medical degree to secure crucial healthcare provisions for the women of Malakand. She also knows that if she returns home with a medical degree, it will encourage countless families in Malakand to educate their daughters beyond the traditional cut-off age.

Supporting Aiman is not just about helping one individual; it is about investing in the future of an entire community, and about empowering thousands of young girls.

Your contribution will not only ensure that Aiman completes her education, it will transform a family’s circumstances, and open the doors to a bright future for many thousands of girls like Aiman.

Lina, a Palestinian Student Studying in a Pakistani University

“After surviving a year of genocide in Gaza, I fled with part of my family while my father and brothers remained behind, and came to Pakistan to continue my education and honor my father’s dream. Now pursuing an MPhil in Applied Linguistics, I hope to challenge harmful narratives and become a voice for Palestine. Despite financial hardships, the kindness of the Pakistani people and the support of The Resilience Support Program (TRSP) — both personal and financial — have helped me rebuild my life with hope and determination.“
