In Pakistan, diabetes affects nearly 20 million people, with 8.5 million remaining undiagnosed. If left unmanaged, diabetes can lead to serious complications, including blindness, kidney failure, amputations, and heart disease. For people from marginalized communities, the cost of lifelong treatment can put even essential medication out of reach, turning a manageable diagnosis into a cycle of disability, financial hardship, and dependency.
A diagnosis that might be manageable for some, becomes a downward spiral into disability, debt, and dependency for others.
By making essential treatment more accessible, we can help patients manage their condition, reduce the risk of preventable complications, and ease the financial strain on their families.
