Thousands in Jhamrari Sharif and surrounding villages in Tharparkar exist as part of an unfathomable reality. Living at least 5-7kms away from the main roads, having to walk miles, barefoot on the scorching sand to fetch unclean water to drink, these communities need our help now more than ever. One of the most water-scarce places on the planet, Tharparkar in interior Sindh is slowly becoming inhabitable. Unless we do something to stop that. Zaman Foundation has set up 2 solar-powered reverse osmosis water filtration plants in Umerkot, which are serving 5,000+ individuals on a daily basis, with two more under construction. Our unique sustainability model, where the community pays for the room construction, solar power system and the monthly maintenance of the plant, ensures the plants are looked after by the community and continue operation for years to come. Join us in helping these communities help themselves.
